First Time.

The Confessions of Foodaholic.Not.

I am a terrible eater. You probably already know that. I call myself a foodie, because I claim to eat almost everything that I see. But that's not true at all. I am a bit choosy when I eat. Oh, don't get me started. And it is a pretty long list, which you don't wanna know. But can I call myself  junkie? Probably! Not that junkie that you are thinking. But the kind who eats too much junk food. What if I said, I start the day with a junk food and end with another. The afternoon meal is usually not constant and changed with each day. But yeah, I could say that the major part of the week's afternoon is nothing but junk food. So, that will definitely give a top rank in eating junk food. But how did all this start! There is always a first time for everything. Until I joined my job, my junk food capabilities were kind of limited. Why, you ask! Budget constraints, if I can put it bluntly speaking. And also, I never got into those high end fancy shops/restaurants. Hell, there weren't any in my town at that time, except for Dominos' and Pizza Hut. And remember I said something about being limited. It was just normal burgers and normal pizzas. I had no idea of any KFC or McDonalds burgers. I asked my dad to take me there a couple of times in the previous city that I lived in. But that didn't happen.

Don't we all have a little hesitation when we do something new? Like what does it have? What should I ask for? Will I be making a fool of myself? And the questions kept populating in my head. So, my junk food was limited to normal bakeries and small fast food joints. And no, no road side food. My throat is not a great fan of that. Even once can kill it with a terrible cough, just like Ice Cream. And yes, I don't eat ice cream as well. You might be wondering how can a person not like ice cream, ain't I right? So, now you can add one person to that list. Unique much? Not exactly right? Anyway, moving forward.

Dominos

This was my first breakthrough when it comes to keeping a pro food-junkie. How worse could it be, I said  to myself and stepped into it. It was a normal shop, nothing out of the ordinary, nothing fancy either, but just plain simple. I don't remember what I ordered for the first time, but what I remember is that it burned my insides. It was good think that I went in the middle of the afternoon and there was no one in the shop to notice me. Oh snap! What was I thinking? I am literally invisible. So, I was airing it through my mouth as if I an cooling a very hot coffee/tea. And then there was this cheese that stretched as it covered the whole earth's equator. It kept stretching and all my attempts to break it off failed. And it was burning as half of the slice as still in my mouth. After what looked like a struggle, I finally got over with it and decided never to return to this shop. The pizza in the bakery in my locality was much better and the catch? It was half the prize of this pizza from Domino's. And also that bakery was near my room.

Subway!

The first year of college hostel was a drag. The food was awful. I preferred not to have food than to eat there and get disgusted. So, on one such casual evening, I along with a couple other decided to drop by Subway. Wow, nice joint. Hell yeah. Three of us went to the shop and ordered something that was on the menu card. Well, this was my first time remember? So, I just picked something that looked nice. I had no idea that we were supposed to tell what fillings we wanted. But my friends took care of that. Oh boy, that was a lot of names/things, per se. And god was it delicious. I made up my mind to come here once in every month or two. But it took me nearly 2 years to get back to this joint. And when I did, I was like looking blankly at the chef who asked me what I wanted in fillings. I nodded up and down , sideways randomly. And turns out, it wasn't the good combination after all. I should have done some homework before I visited this. But well, the next time happened again after a couple of years. And I did my homework this time and it was great again. Wait! I think I forgot what I told the last time. Got to do that homework again. *Sigh*

Kentucky Fried Chicken

In the last year of my engineering KFC was opened for the first time in the city I was in. Wow! Great, innit? Not actually because I never made it there. Because like always I had no idea what all it had, what I should be ordering and it was freaking crowded. And wait, if you were thinking why didn't I go out with my friends? Good thought! I had no such great friends! I used to have but the started living in other part of the city, so it was just me usually most of the time. But after all, I finally made it to KFC nearly an year later. And this time, I got a job and the occasion was celebration of a friend's birthday. Since I had no idea of what KFC had, I just sat back with my camera but accompanied my friends just to find out what all it had. When they asked me what I liked and wanted in KFC, I just said whatever you will have. But that was it! The beginning. To this day, I spend a huge deal of money in the KFC. You can call me an addict, may be, or not!

Pizza Hut

I had always known that there was a pizza hut and thought how much I wanted to eat there, I couldn't. Again the problem number one kind of pulled me back. I went past it a couple of times. But when some of my friends gave a party for the job they got, they invited me as well. And that was my first time. If there are some other people taking care, it is cool. It was delicious, every piece, every bread crumb, each sip of the drink. As this was the first time, I fell in love with the pizza. I came back a couple of times, even though the price was out of bounds for me. Sometimes, white lies are all we have to cover it up.

McDonalds

We had three months of training as we joined the company and then we were sent to different places, some based on the location preferences they gave. So, after a month, a friend came to my city to meet us. And as we had a small get together, we decided to hang out of McDonald. We were a group of over ten people. We occupied out seats and the waiter gave us the menu card. All eyes were looking at me. But there is something I should tell before I tell about this. After I started working, I got vexed with the usual canteen food which wasn't that good either. So, all my dinners were at Domino's. Right! You are probably thinking what happened to the never-return-to-this-shop happened? I had no other choice. Only this joint had something I could take in. And that happened almost every night. This gave my friends a logical concept that I was the master of Junk food since I am a regular. But when all the eyes were looking at me asking me what was good here, I gave a awkward smile and buried my face in the menu card. I saw a couple of things that kind of looked okay. And as if I were the expert told them that these items were great to eat here. And there were vegans and non-vegetarians as well. I was asked to help all of them. Oh god! I kept my cool and picked something randomly and told them that these are great for both parties. Only if they knew that it was my first time in McDonald! Fortunately, everything was fine. Thank god. Else I would have been very bad foodie addict.

Though the first time is over, people still ask me for advices on what is good whenever we go to a fast food joint. The only think that they don't know is that I eat the same thing most of the time alternatively. So, I have no idea of everything that is on the list. I don't eat everything that is on the list. Well, last time I tried almost made me puke. I was at this coffee shop and Irish Coffee sounded awesome. I ordered that only to find out it was bitter. A bitter coffee! I had no idea such things even existed. Wait, was it a coffee? It should be because it suffix has a coffee word. All the new things that I tried were in Cafe Coffee Day only and that gave me a pretty good idea, not to try to explore other things. Because at the other end it is again me, who have to complete it and it is again me who has to pay for it! So, I decided not to take such risks. But, these days, I planned to break the uniformity and change somethings up.

So, do you have any first time(s)? Love? Break up? Kiss? Bla Bla? Blu blu?  Oh, I forgot about all these. But no need to worry (or any other post), nothing that was mentioned ever happened. At. All. Let's see what time has for me?

Day 162.

1. I have been lately off. This includes I being too irregular at blogging and then again when I write something, I am not perfect. Ok, I agree that I wasn't perfect in any of my earlier posts. But you can't blame a man for trying . Okay. So, from posting a blog-post each day, I trickled down to posting, oh wait, I am not even posting. I really miss writing and whats' worse is I want to write but just unable to pen down. Well, that is the reason in the decreasing readers and the comment count. No wonder. But, a comment on my one of my post caught my eye. Yeah, all the comments on my blog catches my attention, so did this. But this was different and I am indeed obliged to post it here. You will also get the reason after you go through it. So, it was a comment by Kriti Bhatnagar on the previous post titled "The World Conspires Against Me".

"
Oh no...the world doesn't conspires against you... :l
My friend...you got to change your point of view... B)
Why work hard when you can take it light... ;)
Pull back your chair...and your sense...a coffee might delight! :P
Why was it so bad with your day? :O
Which novel are you reading by the way? o.O
But I'm glad you let the hungry-for-ages guy ahead! :P
Don't worry bwwoy, things will be alright time to get back to your bed! :D
As per the God is concerned...just don't worry... :)
There's a hell lot of traffic...he usually remains in hurry! ;)
"
Now, that rhymed and was one of the best comment I ever received. I replied to this comment that this comment was so going into my blog, so here it is.

2. People are different in their own way and that makes them unique. And when these many unique people exist in the space around us, there is always a chance to find some commonalities among people which leads them into becoming friends. Now, let me be clear, I am unique in my own way, ok, I agree in a weird way. Facts apart! I am not too good at making friends. Okay, I shall stop, I am not in a place to talk about something that I don't really know about. So, what I wanted to tell is about the conversations that we have with people. I am a little too movie-frenzy and also of tv-series. So, I have a habit of talking in the same way. I would use the words like "True Story", "Legendary" , likewise.  So, occasionally  I when I use these words, I get a reply asking for the reason or what it was. Like when I say "You are an intelligent guy and everybody knows it. #TrueStory" . Yeah, I hash tag also in chats. If you don't use those, then you should probably ping me or buzz me. So, when I mention like that, they ask what story! I feel like #FacePalm. And you can actually see me do that when I am asked like that. First thing is that most people don't watch tv series like I do and also they don't know these things. How can anyone miss any of those series? Now, they will tell they didn't watch the F.R.I.E.N.D.S series. No Offence. Anyways, there is still a possibility that people are just not interested in TV series.

2.a. Okay, fine. Let's say a few people are just not interested in watching tv series. But then when a guy who is so excited to watch a Superman movie asks you what are Superman's powers, then I feel like someone should kill me right there. I mean come on, how can anyone miss Superman from childhood. If it were Shaktimaan, may be its fine because I could consider that they might not have had Doordharshan at their homes when they were kids. But Superman? ....Kal-El? Clark Kent ? Nothing rings a bell, huh ?

3. It's almost 16 days in the month of June and I am still stuck at 3 posts so far. That's insane. No, it is not about the number. It is about what I am doing with the time that I have. What have I been busy with? I question myself to find myself pondering into space of void. Eventually, I snap out of it may be my when my laptop suddenly shuts itself down because it just got overheated ..well... without doing anything. I power it back on throwing some wind or should I say air, whatever! I blow at the fan trying to cool it off as if I am icing it with my breath. May be my breath itself fuels the heating process! We will never know, because we will talk about my breath any more. So, what have I been doing? Thats' a question I often forget answering. Ok, what was the question again?

4. The journey from office to my room is getting weirder by day. Usually, it consisted of a nice dinner at KFC or Pizza Hut or McDonald's after I got down from the bus and a small walk like the length of the river Nile to my room. So, what was it like before it started getting weirder? Well, after the nice little dinner... hmm.. I wouldn't call it little... rather a hefty dinner, I stride back to my room at my fastest pace with my hands tucked in my pockets. And this is the time when other people also return to their homes/rooms. So, I start capturing faces mentally in my mind as in like a cache to entertain me in the way along. It starts from the nice corner seat in the KFC. And by the way, for your information, here faces= girl's faces. I capture as many as I can. I know I know, I said stopped ogling these days, but you can't blame a man for trying. Okay, so after covering the length of river Nile and when I am just about to reach my room, I see a dude. On my way, I have seen may dudes. And I cancel all of them from getting into my mind. But this one is kind of odd and this dude deletes all the captured faces. The reason you ask? I take a turn and there are like four building before I could reach my room. So this Mr.Dude walks on the road in his boxers with nothing above the waist line. Now, does he have a Six Pack body? NO. But what he has is a tight boxers as if he is going for a dive or something and add to it the rain-forest on his chest. Beautiful sight, indeed. Now, that's how one ends a day. Why does he do that, to which I have no idea. If he is trying to woo someone, well.. he is doing a very good job at it.

P.S. : Day 162 here means it is that day in this year. Well, I wrote this post then, but never got a chance to complete it. Anyways, now I did post.

The World Conspires Against Me.

So one day last week, I was so pissed with the things that were happening to me that I literally cursed God. Yeah, Call me an idiot. Getting on with someone who is the ever-easy-to-blame person on the face of earth. Ok, the point is not who is the easiest one to blame. The point is I said, "Bring it on" to dear God. I was so angry that I had no choice but to respond in the similar fashion.

So, the next day I wake up late. Oh, yeah. It is ON. Anyway, I get ready in time and leave to go for office. I was stopped by the land lord asking for the monthly rent. I said I was getting late and that the money was in the room and also that I would give him once I come back from office at night. But he wasn't convinced with whatever I said. I went back to my room and almost threw the money on his face.

I reach office just in time. I usually don't have breakfast. But I always have a cup of coffee and lately I am giving it a pass as well. I really don't know the reason. Anyways, I sit at my cubicle. As usual I am assigned some work and I get right on it. I had assumed that the faster I complete, the more free time I would get. I was wrong about that, which I came to know after a few hours. Well, anyway I being the what do we call .. Whatever it is called..  I completed my assigned work in a stipulated time. I was literally free after  that. But I am not, in the sense of other people. It works something like this : If you complete your work, it is good. But then again, you can take up some of the others' work and help them complete. The Bullshit ! Why should I take up the work assigned to someone else? I complete work on time. There is a strategy for that - Calculated time. I have lunch in just about time and get back to my place and continue with my work - No other avocations. And now you know why I stopped having my coffee. But it struck me hard. The people other than me are actually enjoying their stay and working as cool , hmm, strike that as vaguely as possible. And why was I being the hard ass working guy when I am not even billable/or more like not into project. The irony lies in what we call the hierarchy. There are a bunch of people who work under a few people. These bunch of people are termed as freshers and are taught how to do a work. That's a good thing. But there lies the back drop. The people whose work is shared with these newbies is like their complete work and they enjoy giving orders and more work to meet their deadlines. The Shit. What's the "f#'ing" part is that the people who work rather than giving the work are under appreciated. Oh, yeah. They appreciate by saying - Good Job. You completed the work on time. Or Good, keep it up.  But the actual people who get the credit are them from the hierarchy up above them because the people on the top row don't even know that there are some new guys who are working and helping in reaching the deadlines. Well, that's a whole different thing. And that's how it always works. I am just getting accustomed to this madness. Oh, yeah, I am freaking angry. Not on the hierarchy or the work hmm…what is it called ? Hmmm.. Whatever ! What pissed me off is the work, that to be other's work, just because they were too busy taking breaks and chilling the time.

I am obliged to do other's work as well. And to escape that I grab a place in the canteen and dip into a cup of coffee. Not enough sugar. Damn! I was sure I added more than necessary. I don't understand why the sugar is not sweet enough, or is it my taste buds not working at all? Whatever! So, I spend a mighty time doing nothing. I completed drinking coffee in a minute, though my plan was to stretch that a bit longer for thirty minutes. And then I turn to my phone - Battery only one bar. I turn to my iPod. 10% remaining. Perfect. Just Freaking P.E.R.F.E.C.T. With no much choice left with me, I slide back into my chair in front of my system hoping to get some time to set up the new mail account that I had been trying to set up for the past week and may be read a few blogs, though most of the sites are blocked, so I read my own blog. Yeah, I read my own blog. Weird innit ? So, I was just about to open my blog when one of my supervisor drops by my side and says about swapping the places with someone who is in the other room due to a fracture because of which it would be easier for that person to interact with the colleagues more easily if she were to come to the room I am in. We usually call these rooms as ODC. So, I had no chance to say anything but to accept it. Now! The computer that I am using is an upgraded system. An upgrade from 1 Gigabyte Ram to 4Gigabyte Ram and what more? Windows 7! And what more ? Office 2013! And all this was going to some other person. I actually thought that this was a temporary transition, that the person has a fractured leg and I would get back to my place once the leg is back in perfect condition. But at the end of the day, I came to know that it was a permanent shift. Damn.

So, anyways, the day at office ended and I was back on the way to my room. I was reading the novel which is going at a very slow pace than I thought. Fortunately, there was a traffic jam. And because of which the usual 45 minute journey took nearly 1 hour 30 minutes. And by the time it came to my stop, I was damn hungry and the time was like 2245 hours. I quickly brisk-walk to KFC, only to find a little long line. Ok, I thought  I could wait for say 5 minutes and it would be my turn. Actually, the day was so sucking that I thought of skipping the late night dinner. But I had no idea what overtook my mind that I stood there in the line at KFC. One more person to go and then it was my turn. Then, the guy behind me says that he is getting late to catch the bus and asked if its' okay to jump ahead of the line. When I was entering KFC, I say them carrying heavy luggage inside. So, yeah, being the nice guy I let him jump ahead of line. And I was just figuring out the day about how lucky I was. Don't mistake the work lucky with something like good luck. Oh, that is a far distant thought and never near me, ever. Believe me on that. Oh! I was angry. Damn freaking angry. I was swearing almost the whole day and the day doesn't get any better. Now this guy who jumped in front of me was like he was buying the whole of KFC. It took like eternity to give the order and then another lifetime to get his order ready. I was having second thoughts of having dinner that day. I wanted to get back to mu roon without having dinner more than 20 times in a span of 30 minutes. Oh, Yeah! That was the time it took for him to get the guy-who-jumped-in-front-of-me's order.

And I am having a feeling, it is just the beginning. Because the next day was almost similar to that day.

P.S. Nothing more to say. I am just angry, I guess.

Hilarious Stupidity V3.0

Water on the Laptop. Chicken Stains on the Shirt. Almost Dead Cell Phone. Broken Heatsets. Lazy feet. Chicken Bucket from KFC. Chocolate Wafers. Messy Room. TV on Mute. Cold Wind. A Pen and an Empty Book. Flickering internet connection. Insensible Discussion by Roommates. Sudden loud shouts. Sarcastic heavy laughs. Girl Boy Talk. Sensitive Guys. The Mindless Critics. Highly functional stupids. A Silent Spectator.

  • I don't know what is it with people these days. Last week, I was sitting in a bus, near the door. A guy boards the bus and since there were no more seats available he had to stand besides me. And he was listening to songs as like many other in the bus but I too could hear what he was hearing. Yeah! That Loud. So, his friend boards the bus after two stops. And this guy standing beside me goes like this : "bow chicka wow wow". And No! It wasn't an Axe advt. going on there. The other guy was looking stylish-sort-of. But the guy besides me without knowing how loudly he was speaking in between his blaring music in his ears, shouted out loud. I just burst out laughing. So, did all the people who heard that. And thank god, he didn't take off the other guy's clothes. God Bless Axe. :D

  • I usually stay at a hostel-kind-of which is generally called Paying Guest(P.G.) here. They serve food two times a day. Though it always sucks, everytime, each day. Most of the times I don't even go for having dinner. The sometimes when I go, I wonder Why did I come? Because going for a dinner was like go-and-have-a-look kind of drama. And mind you, you get vexed with the preliminary taste-test. Once I gave them the opportunity of my presence and the preliminary taste-test failed. And I just couldn't eat anymore. So, I thought of going out for a nice restaurant. I go to clean my plate where I find the RIN bar (which is used for washing clothes). At first, I think it must be some sort of new dish-washing soap. But, I linger about still in confusion. My doubts get solved when I see the wraper of the Rin at the far end corner of the kitchen. Idiots, I cuss them. But then some other guys come and begin washing thier plates before I could tell them that they are using the wrong soap-bar. But I still don't tell to the remaining people. I quietly laugh and come back to my room and wash with the dish-washing soap present in my room. Phew! Kya hoga is desh ka ?

  • Recently my email has been almost empty. Well, I have sort of two mail id's. One for all the Facebook and Blogger stuff and the other as in official mail id, and not the office Email. That is another one, the third one. My inbox was literally empty. But my Spam Folder is filling like anything. I have a habit of checking the mail almost every hour, to kill time, may be, or may be to find out that I won a million bucks and that I have to pay some 20 grand to some guy at the airport customs who would bring me New Nokia Lumia phones, two in number from somewhere I haven't heard of along with the cask prize of about 1.2 million. The stupider it sounds, the stupider it gets. Anyway, I have had so many such encounters where I even gave my details, without having the idea that I would have to spend some money even before I get any. And later they used to call me saying that the guy is at the Airport Customs and I have to wire something like 20-25 grand so as to clear the customs and then he would give me my million bucks along with some Nokia phones. I may be stupid, but not that. Anyway, I still had some of those in the SPAM folder which I graciously deleted. And then I stumbled upon one mail. It was dated February 3rd, 2003. Two Thousand and Three. 'What the hell?' was my immediate response. I wasn't aware of email word only at that time. I might have a little but I was totally restricted from using the computer and internet back in those days. And more over , I didn't even had an email. The email to which I got the mail was just recently created like to years ago. And now I see a mail dated 03/02/2003. Well, it no longer is in my spam now. But I am still wondering whether it is some sort of a glitch in the system or no other thoughts strike me.

  • The marriage story... The beginning :

Well this is one of the statements when one(or I) doesn't/don't know what exactly should be said in response. I was too dumb-folded and wondering what he just said or did I hear right?. Well, this is just the beginning of a small, yet a big story. Hopefully in the future posts, I'll probably tell the whole story. I know that guy would kill me for this. But, wth

  • There is too much discussion for the casting of '50 Shades of Grey'. I just stumbled upon a  discussion on the social forum that its should be him, it should he that guy, bla bla. Well, Ian Somerhalder is one in the race, who said, "Whoever would be enacting Christian Grey would have a lot of fun". No argument there.

Now we got a problem. I saw a lot of people telling this Ajay guy to get his mind back. And there, we got a problem. May be that mind of his might have donned some sort of invisibility cloak or whatever. I saw him searching under TV as suggested by a fellow blogger. Seriously, not kidding. And then someone even mentioned about getting mad trying to stick the pieces of the puzzle, the content he writes. I am way too sorry to say that, he has just lost it,  his mind. And the integrity is no where to be seen. He just jumps from one topic to another and sometimes his language seems totally alien to me. I just can't understand a word of his. Anyway, I am trying my best helping him to get his mind back, because in some way or the other, its affecting my mental stability as well.

'The Red in the Redness'
Dear K
You got a valid point. If I wear a red shirt, I should also write in red ? But you see, I am not as cool as I look. I am actually the opposite. And I don the Red for a reason. Yeah, I am hot. Smoking-Hot. Smoking-Burning-Hot. And what color better signifies the hotness?

Now there you go. And also, I tried using other colors, but turns out they don't look as cool as they should be. (I hope K, a fellow blogger doesn't kill me for this. Ah! I forgot! Even if anyone tries to kill me, they would be doing the damage to AK, not me. Ha-ha. I am IMMORTAL.)
And on second thought, the little title for this 'The Red in Redness' sounds cool, I mean red, I mean Hot. No doubt, I am Awesome. Period.

- The Guy in the Hat, with a red shirt and a red pen. :D
