We all have a story

We all have a story we don't want to tell.

There is pain in the eyes, but you see me smiling. It might have been the joke you said or it might have been a happy moment for you. You are happy and so was I. I smiled curving my lips, assuring that I am happy. Of course I am happy. Why wouldn't I be happy? You give another hard look into my eyes, trying to leap inside the broken fragments of the soul, but you strike the doubt off the table with convincing smile I give you. I was happy or perhaps I have mastered the craft.

"What makes one happy?", I sat down contemplating while I turned the pages of the novel that I was reading. I had covered a good fifty pages, only to realize that I was reading but my mind wasn't here. It had been somewhere else, lost. The story on the book continued, the life around continued, but I was still stuck in the limbo, the limbo of the past. And when I look at the page under the bright fluorescent light , I still remember the last scene which happened fifty pages back or was it the memory that never fades.

I revisit the question when I saw the kid drowned in his game suddenly looks up and starts talking to me with a glow in his eyes. When he said he was a Tiger and I responded back that he wasn't. His response was rebellious yet I saw the carefreeness, a sort of freedom and happiness. After all he was a kid and he put me in a trance of thought, while I was still figuring out the answer to the question "What makes one happy?" Perhaps, I was asking the wrong question. I know what makes one happy. I have been there. May be, the question should have been "Why am I not happy?". I could give you a million reasons or one, and I still wouldn't let you in. Because some pages are better left unturned, some stories are better left untold. Perhaps, happiness is keeping the demons inside and never letting them out.

Dark Night

Chapter 4 - Dark Night
[ The Secret Life of Wilson ]

The darkness sunk in the calm night. The night twinkled with the uncountable starts that lit up the whole sky. Streets were silent and the only sound was the sound of the cold wind that blew. The calmness was broken when a old mustang stopped by the end of the block with a big screech. The car waited the the corner of the corner as if it halted at a traffic signal. But the light was green and the car stood there and didn't move even though the engine was still running and breaking the silence of the empty roads. An lightly armored truck was on its way to the Bank. It was nearly the end of the month and the money was being transferred as usual. This wasn't any other usual day. The mustang slimed on the accelerator and jumped it forward blocking the path of the truck which was going peacefully to the bank. The shocked driver hit the brakes on his vehicle and the truck came to a stop. Out came three men in black hooded dress wearing masks pointing gun at the driver and the man accompanying him to open the back door. They three guys looked too big double the size of an average human being. The man who was driving and the man accompanying him who was a police officer looked scared. But it wasn't their job to be scared. They needed to improvise. There was another officer in the back of the truck who got alerted as soon as the truck made an unconditional stop in the middle of the road.

"Open the door", shouted one of the masked guy with a hoarse voice.

But the men in the truck were hesitant to do so. Doing what they asked for was not their forte and they could lose their job. They didn't look at them, but the officer sitting next to the driver moved to grab his gun. There was a gun shot in the air.

"Put your hands over your head and come out slowly", the leader of the gang demanded loudly.

As they came out, the other masked guy grabbed the gun and hit the officer hard on his head. He was angry as they weren't doing what they were told to do. With another punch, the masked guy knocks out the officer.

"See, we don't want any trouble. Just open the god damn door. And if you don't want to cooperate with us, the next thing you get is a bullet in your head", the leader of the gang spoke a little bit impatiently.

The driver opened the door and as soon as he opened it, the officer started showering bullets, into the empty road. The masked men knew about the third person. How did they knew about him?", thought the driver. It was their job to know. They knocked out the driver in one blow. The officer in the truck was a fighter but he was no match for these three hunky guys. But still he threw a few good blows to two of the people. And in the process of avoiding the punches, he snapped the mask covering the face of one of the intruders. But was rewarded with more punches until knocked out. But he wasn't feeling comfortable as he had seen his face. It won't be a pretty picture to have to be always on guard looking over the shoulder. So, he searched for his which slipped from his hand while he was fighting. The leader and the other guy who was bruised in the nose were busy loading the car with the money bags. They stopped and tried to confront him from killing the cop. A cops' blood would attract more attention than anyone. But  he wasn't thinking about the consequences and he pulled the trigger.

The officer was woken up by the police and ambulance sirens from a mild pain in his head which he acquired while stopping them from mugging his truck. He sat up and everything was still fuzzy and a little shaken. His vision was still blurred when the saw the red and blue lights with sirens approaching him which got clearer as he slowly regained his consciousness. The police have come and have were setting up a perimeter trying to analyze what might have happened. The officer ran to check the money. It was gone, but he stopped short. He glanced over his shoulder and saw a black mustang beside which were three men covered in bruises and blood. Beside them were bags of stolen money. The officer couldn't believe what he just saw. The only thing he could think of was, "What the hell just happened?".

( Nearly 10 years ago ... )

Joseph came to his house late in the morning. He was caught up in the work as usual only to find young Will lying on the floor. He immediately rushed to the hospital. The medical examiner told Joseph that Will was suffering with something they didn't even know. But it looked very serious. The main reason being that his blood cells were deteriorating all of a sudden and that led to internal bleeding. They had dome to stop the internal bleeding and concluded that this was temporary and this could happen anytime soon. Joseph was shocked and felt a little helpless but there was still hope. He knew he could save the ten year old Will. Joseph was in contact the dear friend who shared the similar interests which being saving Will's life. Arthur was in contact with Joseph and was helping in develop on the his research  findings. He couldn't do it all alone and also he didn't have the required equipment. It was still experimental but he believed that it will be effective. But when he learned about Alex (Will's) health condition, he knew that he had to make is faster and blamed himself since it was the result of his experimental cancer sure which he made a while back. It was the only possible explanation he could think of. But now, the time was running out. And this was what Joseph had been doing in the after hours, secretly improving Arthur's work but as far as Dr. Micheal knows, it is still under process.

It took them another three years to develop. But what they discovered what more than they had asked for. The only way to prove its whether it was working or not was by testing it. And they couldn't. Arthur was in an undisclosed place while Joseph was in the laboratory and any kind of testing would make Dr. Micheal Cage suspicious which is not a good sign at all. He is already on their back trying to achieve something he doesn't even know about. And this discovery from him would be catastrophic in every way possible. The most dangerous part would be Alex (William) who was still dead to them and who was the first one to be treated for cancer. So, in these three years, Joseph has successfully managed to hide William from everyone. But the times are changing and the life of young Will is getting worse. Though he is under medication to prevent any imbalance in his health, but he is standing on a land mine, per say. Arthur wished he could be there to do something. But it was way too risky if William were to survive this, this new drug, which they named it Elixir.

Lost in Translation.

The beauty of the night
Adorned by the moon
The cold wind ruffled
While the dark clouds scattered.

The luminous darkness
Surrounded the life
In colors of two
The black and the white

Drowned in admiration
Which never ceased
The unspoken glittering stars
That shone the cold windy night

Stories that spread unheard
Mysteries that are left unsolved
Float in the visible darkness
Almost invisible in the naked light.

Stories we create, under the dome
Of glittering stars, of diamonds in the sky
But, what story do that tell ?
What mystery do they hold ?

Life is such.

The silent wind ruffled through the empty spaces. The sun played hide and seek with the clouds and the world was just as busy as it has always been. I stood at the middle of the day in the middle of the road. I could feel the lime light upon me and blurred images revolving around me. I stood there silently watching the world as it faded into night and there I was standing without a clue of what I had been doing so far.

The sky lamented as the stars froze in silence. The unheard screaming voices yet have a story to tell. I have always been a spectator, a silent one observing from the last seat of the stadium. It has always been like that. I could see everything and anything under the sun. Now the stadium is empty, the ground is clear and tired and I am still there sitting in my seat and watching. What am I still doing there? The answer to which I don't have yet.

The dawned to give birth to a pleasant and bright morning. The sun was lovely and the breeze was cold. As the birds chirped their morning song, the wind blew through my face.
One could call it a lethal combination of a perfect morning. As I saw the birth of a beautiful morning and a yet another great day in creation, I was numb to all that was happening around me. I was lost in my own world, a world of temperament. What would I be called if I can not appreciate the beauty that just in front of me. The blindness to the exquisiteness has turned the admiring mind to an impeachable mind which questions the very existence of me.

I question the existence of me. And then I question the creation and the creator. Because without which this world is just another barren land.  Life seems to be so tangled in the questions with no answers. And then there are the silent prayers; for a little hope, for a little change. But they seem to be unheard. May be after all, they are as silent as they sound like. If silent prayers can't help, then what can? Is it that one has to go to the top of the mountain and shout so that the prayers are heard?

Among all these, at the end of the day it is always dark and people prefer silence to anything. The darkness gets dearer and the prayers are still done in silence.  Because life is such. And may be I should also be adorning the silence and let life takes its course. But an agitated mind like mine can never be silent. And questions, will still remain to be silent and unheard.

Up Above the Sky.

One day I was as mush shocked as much as I was pleased when I saw a message in my FB messenger that someone wanted me to write a guest post. At first, I smiled. And then thought, What? ME? I mean..... Come on, Me? Much to my amazement, the message wasn't wrongly sent by the sender. And this person who has an awesome blog and is an prolific writer, yet doesn't agree with it. Well, great people don't usually accept their greatness. Do you agree? No? Well, I will give you an example. I am great and am just great at writing. So, the small class for you people have ended and it is upto you to think what's what! Well, don't try too hard.

So, I argued with this person that I am not the person for this, and that I am the last person who should be writing a guest post for anyone. Well, I don't know the A-B-C of writing. We all know that. OMG! Unanimous vote! And guest post. I thought for a few days about what I should be writing. Well, after too much ado I came up with this.

So, let me first thank the author a dreamygal of the blog 'Journey of Dreamsfor asking me write a guest post for her 700th post. 700th post? Can you believe that? And she says, its not a big number. "Somebody just kill me." :P. (Wait, I was just saying figuratively, not practically. Please put down your guns and knives or whatever you had in mind to carry out the task).

Well, I present you "Up Above the Sky". ( Please click on the link to read the post.)

This is just an excerpt (I first wrote a small piece here, but later thought this was too good to be left incomplete so copied the whole here again) from my post here.

_____________________

I look deep into the dark empty sky with glittering dots of incomplete stories. I just dissolve in the never ending creations that I do by joining those tiny sparkling dots, trying to complete the incomplete story. A story leads to another , and to another. The  stories never seem to end. I am just lost at that moment. When I look back at the things I created so far, seem to fade away in the darkness. I start all over again, just when I realize time has been a enemy so far. Before I know, the night was about to end. Sometimes the sky becomes my enemy when it does not favor my love in creation of the unknown, the unheard. The sky is dark even now, but the stars are not there. What fate might withhold a special place for me in its most uncommon places, I just fail to understand. Sometimes, I don't even spend my alone time with the million friends who seem so distant yet so near. Yeah, friends because I can pamper them in my mind and they wouldn't even mind. The thing that they won't know is totally another story. Nevertheless, I hope they don't see or hear what I do. Because each day a new story might just confuse them to appear ever again.

I solemnly wait, for some evenings to give birth to the night. May be I just love darkness. Or may be we are just alike - all dark. Just like them, I do my creations in the silence of my world while they glitter and shimmer in their place shedding light with each passing moment. No body can see me, hear me, or look at what I do. I may shout in silence, I may scream in vanity, I may laugh in bliss, I may pray in sanctity. Whatever I do, I am just unheard, not felt, not known; just like the stars, whom I  call friends for the similarities that we have. You might have a question about how might I know what the story might be with the so called friends, that I say. Well, I don't. But do anyone of us know? We see the shiny stars, shining and aim to reach them. But really, are they shining? May be they are screaming. May be they are calling us to help them. Or may be they are really smiling at us, and are happy that they give someone a hope, a hope to do things they can't even imagine.

I want to think the stars to be the hope, 'hope' for the people in distress to jump out of their box and explore the outside world, 'hope' for the people climbing the steps of life not to give up and keep pushing themselves. I wouldn't want to think otherwise. Else, what difference would be there between me and them. Though we are two incomparable entities. But the fact that we both love the darkness around makes me closer to it. There are differences, I agree. And being considering it as a dear friend I don't follow any of its principles.

Sometimes, I see the god in them when I share the deepest and deadliest secrets. Sometimes I cry in their presence. Sometimes I ask them to take me away with them. Sometimes, I discuss the so called life of the human life. And then the idea of leaving this beautiful, yet not-so-beautiful world rises deep in my heart. Sometimes, I am waken up, shaken up when my dad comes and asks me what I am thinking. I bluntly say, Nothing. To which he replies, A person can never stop thinking. Even in dreams, the mind keeps working. No argument there. But that little white lie is inevitable. The reason behind it is very huge. Sometimes, the other person might just not understand. Or the reasons are just unspeakable. They should be locked up in the deepest corners of the mind. Because they are just not normal, they are unthinkable & are rather too dangerous. And then a simple small white lie is the only choice to keep them away from seeing the light of the day, or the darkness of the night.

Up above the sky,
I see a friends
So like me,
So drown in darkness

The little lights of hope
An inspiration to many
Laughing and Shining
In white amour of diamonds

We are alike, I say
For the resemblance of darkness
that we posses
beneath the shiny attire we adorn

Hidden beneath the smile
Are so many untold stories
So many prayers
And so many truths.

But then again we are different
Not in presence of situation
But in thoughts of ideologies
Which are quite opposite.

No wonder people dream of them
Aspire to reach them,
Struggling their way
Through the adversities.

I am not like those
Yet, I call it my friend
In spite of having varying thoughts
In spite of living a million miles away

Because it knows
More than I know myself
For I share everything
In its presence.

P.S. : Well, I  thank adreamygal once again. Anyways, I am truly truly honored, like a hundred times. Though, I have told her a million times that she was doing the wrong thing by asking me; a person who isn't that proficient in writing and just thinks that he is great at writing, but the world knows that he isn't. If you didn't know till now, there I just proved it. So,

Strange Life.

Author's Note : The following is a 'Worambling' (Rambling with words).

The night woke up in the dark
Surrounded with silence
Calmness overtook the litle patience
As I drifted from one thought to another

Winds swirled in the air
Somersaulting with the hot currents
The dark became dearer
While the patience worn out slowly

For life is such
Whispered someone from behind my back
A voice so familiar
For it was none other than mine

While my strength drained
While my thoughts faded
Time was winning in its part
For it is a competition

Little moments of bliss
Flashed like an old movie
Overwhelmed was I so see such serenity
For my mind never accepted such beauty

I failed to retrospect
When I realized struggle is not my type.
At my helplessness, People laughed
while Arrogance subsided the little hope.

Defeated , I did feel
For my will was shattered
Surrounded in darkness
I felt the suction into the black hole

In vain, I tried to escape
Which seemed like a distant dream
Determined I was to get out
Only to realize that I was already lost.

Little hope tried to keep me alive
Pushing me hard to relive
Every passing moment
Slowly belittled my determination

Deep was I in the despair
For a little ray of light, if at all
Faded midst the torturous dark
While I tried not to lose hope.
