#UnwrapChristmas by spreading Happiness and Love.

It only takes a spark to get the fire going.
And soon all those around can warm up in its glowing.
That’s how it is with God’s love,
Once you have experienced it
You want to sing
You feel like spring
You want to pass it on…

A few of us gathered together for Secret Santa tidings, divided by names and united through a common Christmas spirit of sharing. And it is in this spirit that we bring this blog chain to you.

I am thankful to Kala for passing on the baton of spreading Christmas joy and spirit.

As the stars twinkled in the sky,
The carols lighted the night
With merry and melody.
For the festive thrives in joy, and
All we hear are the jingles all the way.

What does Christmas mean to you? I tried answering this, but there is no perfect answer. We may try to define it, put it in words and all, but then we will realize that it is so much deeper. It is the feeling which we could not define but only show. But then again, what does Christmas mean to you? What does Christmas mean to me? Let me put it one word : Joy. Togetherness. Love. Food. Happiness. Gifts. Santa. And so much more. And yes, I tried the one word but, like I mentioned its' an feeling we could never measure or quantify.

Every year we used to put up the decorations at school and then at home. Yes, two places, since decorating the Christmas tree has always been fun and the spirit of togetherness that it brings upon is something to remember for a lifetime (each year). And not to mention the food and the delicacies that were prepared during this time is an added bonus. As we grew up, people drifted, be it studies or work or any other reason, this one season brought everyone close, together.

Talking about gifts, we have this debate on whether there is Santa or not. Let me just ease your mind by telling the truth. Santa is real. No, he may not come on reindeer carriage bearing gifts, but he does exist. The thing is we consider Santa to be a person, but we should rather see it as a feeling, a way to share joy and happiness. But we want gifts and we will be surprised to see the gifts near the Christmas tree that you might not have told anyone. Because there are people who know you and what you want. And it is not about getting a gift, though I agree on the joy of getting a gift is unexplainable and equally the person who put the gift is equally happy.

So, this brings me to the most popular game Secret Santa. I was actually surprised that I hadn't known about this during my college or school. The idea of the game is sharing, duh. For the past two years, we had been playing the game at office and believe me no one goes home disappointed. Well, it's the season of joy and sharing. And most importantly its the season that symbolizes togetherness. So, embrace the people around you, give them a hug, they might not need it, but they will feel much better nevertheless. And if you are stuck in an office working, or cribbing over the pages of your book for the exams, or may be just alone, remember that the warmth of the season and the close people will reach you and embrace you, Happy Christmas.

A Merry Christmas to each and every one. Let's spread Love and Happiness.

I now invite Jaibala Rao to spread the message of Christmas and new years on their blog.

Farewell

Part 1 : It all began ...
Part 2 : Insanity has a new meaning
Part 3 : Sinking in
Part 4 : Steep Slope
Part 5 : The lost art
Part 6 : That twist of fate
Part 7 : Crushed
Part 8 : The Meet

Another question I have trouble answering is "Where are you from?". The thing is I was born in one place, lived in so many places and then have been to different places during holiday (like to grandmother's house). Okay, I agree with you. You must probably be thinking about Why can't you just tell your father's birthplace (?) (no one stays there) or your mother's. The most frustrating thing about answering this is the justification I have to put forth. I am from abcxyz. No one, I mean no one knows this place. So, basically I have no answer to the following question "Where is that?" as if that wasn't bad enough, I can't even read my mother tongue. Yes, that's insane, I know.

Anyhow, this was the last week and I was getting called into the conference rooms asking me to extend my tenure and since I hadn't worked in the proposed plan since they had me working on something else. The plan was to get the hell out of there and no matter any sort of persuasion altered my decision to return back. So, the crush-turned-sister started complaining about the odd working hours and the people working like animals. Yes, she said that. And I was very glad I was getting the hell out of there. I had no social life, whatsoever. Though we can argue that I didn't have it anyway, but that wasn't the point. I barely get any time, for myself? Anyhow, the final day had finally come and the work was on a halt since there was some issue with the licensing of the product. I was glad that I wasn't asked to give a speech before leaving. Phew, that would be one awkward silence, wouldn't it be?

"So, you're from Hyderabad! I have been there. It is a great city."
(Wait a minute, I don't know anything about Hyderabad, I was just there for 1 day. umm, but let me play along). "Yeah it is".
Then he went on mentioning some places which I have heard for the first time and the time it used to take to cover that distance and I was there nodding. Boy, this guy tells anything and everything.
"One thing I like about the city is that the Girls use scooty".
(I was like what!?) "Yeah, *a little confused look* they do"( EVERYWHERE. They have started using CARS, for gods' sake and I don't even own a bicycle. Beat that.
Finally I bid my farewell and got out of that place, for good, I hope. I really hope, I don't go there, like ever.

After sleeping through the night, at 1100 hours I bid farewell to the city of joy, joyfully

The eyes that searched.

I saw her a couple of weeks ago. From across the room she smiled. I smiled back. I had always liked her since I first saw her. Perhaps it was her charisma or her smile or may be it was the way she talked, animated and full of life, or I don't really know. We met formally once through the mutual friends and I have never been able to meet her again to know her better. But I did eavesdrop in the conversations her friends had hoping to get to know her a little.

No one could imagine the joy it gave when she finally smiled at me the first time. For a second, I curbed my intuition of screaming out loudly. I blacked out the voices. Boy, I was glad. She and I talked, talked about things under the sun, and the moon as the stars glazed in the night sky. I was happy and I wished that she was too. I had not contemplated what was happening with me. Sometimes, I am not aware of what was going on around me, forgetting things I was supposed to do.

And one day she waited, her eyes searching for someone, I saw her. I thought it was me, her eyes searched for. I waved to get her attention from across the road. She didn't see. I called, she didn't listen. But then there were people all around. So, I decided to go and greet her. And as I was about to take the step, she smiled like I had never seen before, the joy in her eyes were the joy I had for long time since I saw her. I was surprised how she could mimic me so perfectly. Did she know what I felt for her? Does she feel the same about me too. But the smile she had, the joy it had in the eyes weren't looking at me. They were for someone else.
